Java
Java is a superb language that allows source code to be compiled into files that can then be executed by a Java Virtual Machine.
It enables code mobility unimagineable a decade ago. Code can be debugged and optimised then the same code reused in a life-times applications via packages.
Javas' web abilities are widely used and a broad library of functionality is available to draw on. Java Server Pages (JSP) being a good example.

Open Source
By using Open Source (O.S.) code a developer can gain years of debugging and optimisation already applied by the O.S. community.
While adding useful functionality is the obvious payback, in reality just using the code and reporting any problems is a valueable contribution.
While there is more to open source than (just) being free it is benefically to be able to prototype the full code rather than trial versions of proprietory software.

mySQL             
MySQL is open source and is now owned by Sun MicroComputers.
They allow the free use of several versions of the popular database.
mySQL is highly desirable for the same reason as other open source software:
There is a massive body of users who have written volumes on mySQL's functionality and oddities.
We can quote for all types of mySQL work including redesign, security and backup issues.

osCommerce             
osCommerce is a well established eCommerce db based shopping cart. It utilises PHP and hence needs just an Apache server to run.
Quasarsoft is proud to have coded and will publish shortly a B.I.R.T. reports module for osCommerce which still only needs Apache to run.
B.I.R.T. reports can include colour graphical charts and allow the busy e-entrepreneur to see at a glance how he needs to steer his organisation.
We can provide a growing list of standard reports for osCommerce but are very happy to design custom reports or follow up peoples requirements.

Order handling is browser based. Customer reviews and order tracking are available.
SSL security is easily incorporated and is recommended for customer confidence.

KonaKart             
Konakart is a superb eCommerce db based shopping cart. It utilises JSP and is hence ideal for the skill sets of Quasarsoft.
Quasarsoft is proud to be an official partner of KonaKart.
Only part of KonaKart is open source but customisation is possible.
Various modules allow very advanced functionality. For example promotions can be set for specific customers or products over a date range.
KonaKart can be considered the deLuxe version of osCommerce- designed for the medium size business rather than the small business but suitable for any business that needs any of its features.

Joomla             
Content Management Systems have revolutionised website management. Joomla is generaly acknowledged to be the best open source solution.
We have been working with Joomla in preference to others as the range of available templates and modules is so wide.
We can set up a Joomla site using an existing template at a low price and also modify existing templates to fit your requirements.
To get the best out of Joomla you may need some staff training which we can also help with.
